The work of Tree of Life Manenberg is truly inspiring. Their dedicated team provides essential support and opportunities to youth in one of Cape Town's most challenging communities. Through mentorship programs, skills development workshops, and safe recreational spaces, Tree of Life is helping break cycles of violence and poverty while nurturing the potential of young people.

What struck me most during our time documenting their work was the genuine care and love for their community. In an area often defined by its challenges, Tree of Life creates spaces of safety, creativity and hope.

The organisation's deep roots in Manenberg give them a unique understanding of local dynamics, allowing them to build trust and create lasting impact where others might struggle.

Filming their story was a powerful reminder of how grassroots organisations can drive meaningful change through consistent, compassionate presence in vulnerable communities.
